VETZONE Pet Health Center - Amman

I am not a person that usually writes reviews but, in this case, I feel I have to speak up so that other animals do not needlessly die under the hands of such inexperienced so called “vets”. Medical malpractice accountability is unfortunately non-existent in Jordan. Mistakes are almost always covered up. This has to end. Unless we hold those taking care of our health and the health of our pets accountable, mistakes as a result of negligence will continue to be made without worry about accountability. I hope by sharing my story I can at least prevent another tragedy from happening.

I brought my 5-month-old Maltese puppy (barely over 1 kg) into VetZone as he had vomited his breakfast out and looked lethargic. They took a blood test and an X-ray and he was diagnosed as having kennel cough and said it was easily treatable. They gave us antibiotics to give him at home and told us to call them if there was no improvement. I called them later on that night and told them he still hadn’t eaten but was drinking water. They told me to bring him in the morning if he still hadn’t eaten to give him a dextrose IV. He was a little better in the morning but hadn’t eaten so I took him as per the vet’s instructions. The woman vet that was there told me my puppy didn’t look dehydrated but thought she should give him an IV just in case. Within a couple of minutes after inserting the catheter, she said she was going to put a vitamin B complex in the IV to help him become more energetic. She said he might not like it while it was going into his vain as it burned and he might move a little. Within less than a minute after the vitamin B complex went into his system, he went into convulsions and died immediately. The vet then instantly pulled out the catheter from his tiny paw and started performing CPR for a minute while it was obvious that she was panicking and didn’t know what to do. I started yelling to the secretary to call another vet to come and help. It was around 9am by then and we were the only ones in the clinic. The other vets apparently lived on top of the clinic, so she tried to contact them. After a minute or so of CPR, the vet literally ran away and left me and the secretary alone! It took at least 10 minutes for another vet to come downstairs. He tried to perform CPR on my puppy but it was already too late by then. I told the clinic I was not going to leave until the owner, Alaa Shehadeh, explained to me how they killed my puppy! He eventually showed up by 11am despite repeated calls from his staff and agreed it was the vitamin B complex that killed him. He said it was a rare occurrence and attributed it to fate “Kada ou Kadar.” He did promise to investigate the matter. As soon as we went online and researched, we found out that vitamin B complex should not be given intravenously and only intramuscular or subcutaneous. I called 2 other vets that day that confirmed this. Throughout the day, the vet was communicating with us back and forth that he would look further into this. The next day he called and apologized admitting that the woman vet miscalculated how fast the vitamin B complex went into his system and that he, as a more experienced vet, would not have done it. He asked how he could make it up for us.

I want nothing other than to warn others about this so-called "Veterinary Clinic.” This woman vet is clearly inexperienced and the owner needs to be held accountable for hiring such inexperienced staff that are supposed to heal rather than kill our pets that we trustingly take to them.

Vet zone is the Worst here are the reasons:
To all pet owner out there ,i had the worst experience with this center i had a cat that went into heat so i took her there for check up and when i arrived doctor ala told me she needs a Spaying operation and began by telling me how easy its and they did hundreds of these operations so i took the doctor advice and when the operation finished i took her home and she wasn't looking OK ,and she didn't eat anything then next morning i woke up to find her dead .
the conclusion is after asking more than 20 pet owners i found this thing happened a lot ,a frined of mine lost his dog ,and 2 other friends also lost their cat due to the same operation my advice people don't ever visit Vet Zone 8th circle it's pricey with no humane doctors only blood suckers looking to take your money
