Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of non-profit projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all project activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts for projects, identifying potential variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage the financial aspects of grants, including proposal budgets, grant compliance, and reporting.
  • Work closely with program managers to ensure that grant funds are utilised effectively and in accordance with grant agreements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to donor guidelines for accounting and reporting.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial procedures to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strengthen the control environment to mitigate financial risks and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generate regular financial statements, variance analysis, and other reports as required.
  • Facilitate and support internal and external audits related to project finances.
  • Ensure that all financial documentation is readily available and in compliance with audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and grant requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing non-profit organisations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in project accounting within a non-profit environment.
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Arabic languages (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced skills in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
