Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of software contracts, including software licensing agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and technology partnerships.
- Ensure contracts align with legal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide legal guidance on intellectual property matters related to software, including copyright, trademark, and patent issues.
- Implement strategies to protect and enforce software-related intellectual property rights.
- Stay abreast of evolving laws and regulations affecting the software industry.
- Ensure contractual compliance with software licensing models and industry-specific legal standards.
- Conduct negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions for software contracts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into legally sound agreements.
- Identify legal risks associated with software contracts and propose effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide legal assessments of potential risks and consequences.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of software contracts, from initiation to termination.
- Maintain an organized and updated repository of all software-related legal documents.
- Work closely with software development teams to understand technical aspects of products and services.
- Provide legal guidance on open-source licensing, proprietary software, and third-party integrations.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and partners through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Address legal queries and concerns related to software contracts.
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams, ensuring awareness of legal considerations in software contracting.
- Keep internal stakeholders informed about changes in software-related laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Law or equivalent preferably from UK.
- Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Proven experience as a Legal Consultant with a focus on software contracting.
- Fluent in both English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- In-depth knowledge of software licensing models and intellectual property laws.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interpret complex technical concepts for legal purposes.
- Previous experience in technology or software-related industries is highly desirable.
